Intended as an additional learning experience and not as a substitute to your shorebased course, your Coastal Skipper / Yachtmaster audio aid covers basic subjects in greater depth than the Day Skipper disc together with some new ones, which lend themselves to audio description.
Successful completion of this advanced shorebased course could lead to your gaining a Commercial Endorsement if you carry on to take your Coastal Skipper or Yachtmaster practical assessment. This allows you to operate as a commercial skipper with not only a responsibility to crew members but also members of the public, it is therefore not given out lightly.

It is a course requirement that your starting knowledge level should be to at least to Day Skipper standard. If you have previously taken a Day Skipper shorebased course, you will have some knowledge of what to expect and this disc will help to remind you of the important points, but if not then you will definitely need to get yourself up to speed by all available means. In fact you may choose to purchase the Day Skipper disc as well.
Of course once you own this disc you will be able to refresh your knowledge at any time in the future, keeping yourself in the know, use it or lose it, holds true still.
