Currently, as well as commercial Skippering, I undertake work as an Instructor for both The Falmouth School of Sailing and Trysail down here in the South West of Cornwall.
A keen Technical Diver as well as taking part on many sail and power boat trips, I hope I have enough of both practical and theoretical knowledge to support the production of these Audio Aids. The idea for these discs first came to me when I was preparing to take my Yachtmaster Shorebased Course. My job at the time involved spending part of the week in Birmingham and the rest at my new home in Cornwall, a lot of driving. Some weeks before the start of my course I purchased some available reference books together with books of exercises but I quickly realised that the amount of facts to remember was quite extensive. Not wanting to waste the time I recorded myself an audio tape to play in the car (yes, cars still had tape decks then).

This helped a great deal in getting to grips with the new, deeper level of understanding in maritime subjects I now needed. It has taken some time to get the rather poor quality tape content onto a CD which could be played, understood and provide help to others as it did for me. I do hope you find the experience as helpful to you as it was for me, I passed my Yachtmaster without difficulty, and if I can then anyone can, with the right help.
